Research + Development The special papers made at Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Flensburg are constantly being tested in the mill’s own laboratories. Samples are taken from every production series, for example and thoroughly tested for their resistance to heat, moisture, plasticisers and light irradiation. Chemists and laboratory technicians work together with their colleagues from marketing, sales, technology and production to optimise existing products in line with new requirements and develop custom grades based on individual customer specifications. This claim is justified by the companies nomination as a highly innovative “TOP 100 Member”.
The department receives back-up from the scientists who work for the Japanese parent company. In Japan, Mitsubishi Paper Mills runs three research & development laboratories with around 240 highly specialised staff. The regular transfer of knowledge guarantees that only products of the highest quality that satisfy the very latest requirements are made.
